What is a Certificate Signing Request (CSR)?

A CSR is a text string created by your server software. You will need this text string to order an SSL Certificate.

If you are unable to generate the CSR on your server yourself, a CSR generator is available on our website at Don't forget to save the PrivateKey locally!

Please note: When using the server platform IIS, it is not possible to use an external CSR generator. In this case, the CSR must be generated directly on the IIS.
